Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
It wasn’t what I was expecting to say the least. The original franchise was much darker, more extreme in its consequences, and ultimately had much more to say than this in terms of the premise’s sociopolitical inspirations.
I guess a fictionally intelligent James Franco is enough to revive a franchise. Also, how many more times can film include the line “[title character’s name here] is home” before the entire universe is tired of it? I guess not by this movie. The CGI was impressive though.

I’m starting over.

I’ve decided that most, if not all, of the posts I’ve made have become beyond obsolete. Before I deleted them, I realized that there are arguments to be made for remembering, so I instead set all of my posts on private. Unfortunately, nostalgia is for me and at a much later date, so for all intents and purposes, those posts are long gone.
